Karen Jones

Karen is the Reviews Manager at the IUQB. She is responsible for developing, managing and monitoring the Institutional Review of Irish Universities (IRIU). She also monitors the effectiveness of the annual reporting process between Irish universities and the IUQB and ensures that the IUQB maintains its full ENQA membership by operating in accordance with European Standards and Guidelines (ESG). Karen has nineteen years experience working in higher education. She has worked in four universities (England, Wales and Ireland), worked nationally as a Policy Adviser in the Welsh branch of Universities UK (IUA equivalent) and as a quasi-civil servant in the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEA equivalent). Within these roles, Karen was involved in commissioning, developing, and monitoring the UK’s National Student Survey and the TQI/Unistats websites. From 2012 onwards, the work of the IUQB is expected to transfer into the Qualifications and Quality Assurance Authority of Ireland (QQAI).
