Distillery House is at the end of the North Mall on the top left hand side of this map. There are also campus maps showing our location.
From Waterford or Dublin arriving via the N25:
Follow signs to Cork city centre until you reach the city quays. DO NOT CROSS THE RIVER(s). Stay on the quay you are on, stick to the middle lane where possible.
Keep driving along the north quays, past Penrose Wharf, past the back of the Metropole hotel. Opposite you on the other bank you will pass the bus station and the Opera House. You will go through several sets of traffic lights.
Keep going straight on to Pope’s Quay. Do not divert right up the hill towards Blarney with the rest of the traffic. You will pass a large church with a Greek style portico on your right (St Mary’s, Pope’s Quay). At the next traffic lights, again go straight on (you will see Dunne’s stores on your left across the river).
At the end of the next street, North Mall, you will see Distillery House facing you (picture attached). Do not continue beyond the house where the road goes steeply uphill (Sunday’s Well Road) because it is hard to turn around there.
On North Mall disc parking is available. If you find a space, park, and we will give you a disc for your car if you have been invited to a NAIRTL meeting. If no space is available, turn around and now take a right turn over the river at the North Gate bridge. Change lanes on the bridge and turn left so you are travelling back towards the direction you came, but on the opposite side of the river.
Shortly on your right hand side is the entrance to Kyrl’s Quay multistorey car park. If this is full, continue on – there is another multistorey carpark, Paul Street, a couple of hundred yards further along the quay. We will reimburse your parking costs if we have invited you to a meeting, so keep your ticket.
