The 2007-9 UCD Fellowships in Teaching and Academic Development scheme was conceived as a hybrid model to support both the development of institutional academic leadership and educational solutions to strategically important issues at institutional level (Noonan & Redmond 2007). The scheme was made possible through a successful application for funding from the Higher Education Authority’s Strategic Initiative Fund (SIF 1).

Proceedings of the National Academy's Third Annual Conference. The Proceedings includes papers from seventeen presenters including keynote speakers Professor Jon Butler, Yale University, Dr Anne Lee, University of Surrey, Professor Carolin Kreber, University of Edinburgh and Brad Wuetherick, University of Alberta. The Proceedings includes a CD containing thirty-nine posters from the event together with a video recording of the panel discussion entitled "How can research funding organisations shape teaching and learning?"which was chaired by Dr John Bowman. This publication is available for free for orders within Ireland and postage and packing costs will occur for international orders.

The Irish National Awards for Excellence in Teaching in Higher Education ran for a total of five years, during which time forty-three higher education staff members across a wide range of Higher Education institutions and disciplinary backgrounds were recognised and celebrated for their contribution to the integration of research, teaching and learning in Ireland. This publication traces the impact the NAIRTL Awards on the career trajectories and teaching practice of the award holders.

The Resource Pack is designed to provide some practical guidelines on how to create podcasts and screencasts to develop resources that can be used to support lecture delivery and student learning. An overview of the use of podcasting and screencasting is provided, along with some principles from cognitive literature on designing e-resources. There are some practical suggestions on how to create casts and an overview of some common software.

This report evaluates the impact of research projects that were supported by the NAIRTL grants initiative from 2007-2010.

This publication details the findings of a collaborative project examining the implications of Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences for curriculum and assessment in Ireland. The print version was published by the Education Department, University College Cork in April 2000. The digitised version is made available by NAIRTL.

This interactive publication describes the outcomes of a unique interinstitutional project undertaken in Ireland between 2008 and 2012 to develop a common framework for the support of supervisors of postgraduate research students.
The experiences of the seven institutions who ultimately participated in the NAIRTL Supervisor Support and Development project are summarized in the form of a series of commentaries on approaches to such training, and a description of the primary elements of the final framework itself. It is intended that this information may be of use to any institutions interested in developing their own supports for research supervisors, and ultimately will be of benefit to the supervisors themselves and, of course, their students.
