Dr Paul Barry

Dr Paul Barry is the Head of the school of Science at Waterford Institute of Technology.

He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin where he gained a BA (Mod) in Mathematics in 1974. He undertook postgraduate studies in the Universite de Bordeaux I, and subsequently lectured in the Ecole Normale Superieure in Tunis. Returning to Ireland he worked for a year in UCD, before taking up a lecturing post in Waterford Institute of Technology. In 1991 he became Head of the Department of Physical and Quantitative Sciences, and since 2004 he is Head of the School of Science. He is a member of the WIT eLearning Technologies research group, and a member the institute’s eLearning Steering Group. In the past he has participated in European ODL and Minerva projects in computer assisted education. His research interests are mainly in mathematics and eLearning.
