Monica Devanas is the director of Faculty Development and Assessment Programs in the Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Monica is a distinguished leader in improving science learning on college campuses whose service to the SENCER (Applying the Science of Learning to the Learning of Science) national project has been of extraordinary quality and long duration. Monica’s course in HIV, Biology and Society one of the first four courses selected as a SENCER national model in 2001. She has served as a senior associate, core faculty members, and most recently has been appointed co-director of the SENCER Center for Innovation- Mid-Atlantic, housed at Rutgers. Monica was elected to the inaugural class of Leadership Fellows in July 2008.
