Áine Hyland is Chair of the International Advisory Board of the (Irish) National Academy for the Integration of Research and Teaching and Learning. She is a member of the European Universities’ Association Institutional Evaluation Team and is co-ordinator of the U.S. based Carnegie Foundation’s CASTL Graduate Education Network.
She is Vice-Chair of the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences. She recently retired as Professor of Education and Vice-President at University College Cork. She has published widely in the area of educational history and policy and in recent years she has presented papers, nationally and internationally, on aspects of the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education.
