Alan Kelly has been Dean of Graduate Studies of UCC since 2006, with responsibility for developments in graduate education in UCC, including the development of supports for students and supervisors. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at UCC, with teaching responsibility for food processing and preservation and dairy product technology. He has supervised over 30 MSc and PhD students and has published extensively in the dairy science field, and is currently editing a leading journal in that discipline. In addition, he is directly involved in teaching a number of generic training modules and short courses in scientific research skills modules, especially scientific writing.
