Professor Paul D. Ryan is currently Professor of Geology within the Department of Earth & Ocean Sciences, NUI Galway. He has been the Earth Sciences Subject Area Coordinator for the Tuning Project and a member of the Tuning Management Board since its inception. He has prepared the Tuning Earth Sciences template, shortly to be published. He acts as Higher Educational Expert to several international projects including EU thematic networks, Eur-Ages, Tuning Georgia and to specialist panels and workshops.
He has published and lectured throughout Europe on the Bologna Process. In 2009 he coordinated the Earth and Space Sciences national review of research units for the Foundation for Science and Technology, Government of the Portuguese Republic. He is Bologna Adviser to NUI Galway.
